Paul G. Faraclas
President & Chief Executive Officer
Paul Faraclas joins CTQ in his third executive role with nearly 30 years of healthcare and consulting experience. Prior to CTQ, Faraclas served as Vice President of ISH, Inc. (Fairfield, NJ) for four years, where he helped grow the practice into the nation's largest acute care consulting firm. Working with over 80 of the most prestigious acute care and ambulatory facilities in the U.S. and abroad, Faraclas is credited with contributing to their improvement in operational and financial performance. His most prominent accomplishments were leveraging key performance indicators in supply chain management and perioperative services to initiate savings programs that exceeded $30 million. His leadership in Human Capital Management (HCM) initiatives added an additional $10 million to client P&L within the first year of program execution. Faraclas provided significant industry education on benefits related to acuity-based staff scheduling. In addition to working on dozens of enterprise EMR, Perioperative, HIS & ERP software selection initiatives, Faraclas promoted ISH's core belief system of business transformation though the development of a revised future-state business model, with measurable targets that balanced financial performance, operational excellence and customer service.
Prior to his work with ISH, Faraclas served as national director of sales for professional services for USInternetworking (Annapolis, MD), then a publicly held $130 million Application Service Provider (ASP). Serving all industries in technology planning and implementation, Faraclas increased revenue by over 250% in 3 years. He worked with dozens of Fortune 1000 companies, as well as with more than 25 acute care and research facilities. Deploying industry experts at the front-end of engagements, accompanied by rigorous expectation-setting, resulted in unparalleled client satisfaction. During his tenure, USi acquired Conklin & Conklin (Milford, CT), a highly successful software consulting and implementation firm where Faraclas also served in an executive role.
Faraclas, an expert in Managed Care, spent fourteen years with Anthem Health Plans (Indianapolis, IN), Blue Cross Blue Shield of CT (North Haven, CT) and The Travelers (Hartford, CT) in numerous capacities. Paul mastered every payer industry component and implemented all claims, provider, pharmacy and eligibility systems for all plans. Hired specifically to resuscitate a struggling CT Medicare program, Faraclas helped elevate BCBSCT's Medicare national ranking from 43rd to 6th during the first year of transition. Faraclas also founded and managed BCBSCT's technical training division, where he published substantial technical and operational training material, and spoke regularly at conferences on adult learning in technology. He worked on several of Anthem/WellPoint acquisitions and mergers to standardize disparate plans. In this capacity he worked directly with HCFA, NCQA and the IRS.
As an independent consultant (and while attending college), he developed the first computerized business intelligence system for the CT Hospital Association (Wallingford, CT), tracking and benchmarking all financial metrics and KPI's for all 36 Connecticut hospitals.
Faraclas holds an MBA with a concentration in health care management (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of New Haven and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, having graduated as class valedictorian. He is a member of Sigma Beta Delta, the national honor society for business, management & administration. Faraclas holds a BS from Clark University, Cum Laude with highest honors in both Computer Science and Economics. He has been a keynote speaker, attained several certifications and has been recognized with numerous honors and awards.
